Legal Question in Traffic Law in Georgia
Hello, I was pulled over in Georgia. I had no registration and no insurance. The very next day I obtained insurance and registered the vehicle. My court date is set for a month should I go to court and try to get a chance of getting reduce fines or should I just pay the fines and avoid court to avoid court cost ? I am a struggling college student and these really be hard to come up with this money .

Paying the fine in advance is equivilent to a guilty plea and your license to drive will be suspended. You may do better to attempt to negotiate a plea to a lesser charge, if you can, and a lawyer would be most useful in that situation. Different prosecutors and different judges handle these cases differently, but you will have severe consequences from a guilty plea that may be avoided - be it by another plea or by various dispositions.
