Does my friend need to change the name of his company?
My friend has a company in India of which the name is similar to that of a company in United States and it has the trademark of that name in US. My friend's company is registered under Directorate of Service Tax, Mumbai, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India and he has the Bank account as well as the PAN of the company with the same name. Now he has added another name along with that particular name but still he is being forced to change the name of his company entirely. Does he require to change the name completely? Or what else you suggest under which laws.

Dear Sir / Madam,
If your friend has formed a Company limited by shares and the Certificate of Incorporation is issued by the Registrar of Companies (ROC), your friend does not need to change the name of the Company even if the coincides with a Company which is registered in the US.
