Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

I completed my SSC and HSC in Maharashtra. So my name in the certificates are in full as :

NADAR K INIGO PRABAKAR KANAGARAJ

where NADAR - surname

INIGO PRABAKAR - my name

KANAGARAJ - father's name

.

Right now studying b.e in Tamil Nadu:

All my educational certificates has the name as in the SSC & HSC certificate.

.

But here in Tamil Nadu they do not include "surname" in the name.

Also it is totally annoying me.

.

Now I want my name to be simply my name:

INIGO PRABAKAR

.

What is the procedure? Please give a detail response!

You should also include your surname as it may be needed in a few places in future. However, for name change, you will need to give a public notice in some news paper and then make an application to the school authorities. After your name is changed in the school certificate, you may need to apply to other authorities for name change by adding an alias [@].

It is better you do not disturb the existing situation. Instead, request the TN authorities to mention the same name in BE certificate as is being shown in school certificates.

Dear Inigo Prabakar,

Come what may, a man never ever changes his name during his entire lifetime. You should personally go and meet the University Registrar to maintain and register your name in the University record as it appears in your SSC and HSC record.
