Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

My brother's wife filed 498A against my brother and me. I started staying away from my home even before my brother married her. I was staying in college hostel in another city. I left India immediately after my studies to live with my husband abroad. My sister-in-law filed 498A when I was aboard. I never lived with her more than two or three days together in a house. Can I file petition to quash the case against me? Can I file bail petition when I am away from India?

Yes, in your case, a very good chance of getting the FIR quashed. Where it he case pending? What are the allegations of your sister against you? As you are abroad, you may execute a notarized power of attorney and your next friend can file a petition for quashing in the high court on your behalf.
