Legal Question in Discrimination Law in United States

Hi, so me and my girlfriend applied for the same position at an after school program. They called us both for a group interview together. When the interviewer asked us what did we feel comfortable in tutoring we both gave the exact same answer. So we were equally qualified. Two days later she got an email saying she was hired and I got an email stating that I was turned down simply because of my math qualifications. This is obviously not true since we had the exact same qualifications. Can this be a good case? I just feel as if he based his decision on something not related to qualifications. Thank you

So...welcome to life. If you got the job, under your theory, that must mean your girlfriend could sue and get a big check, right? What if there were 20 well qualified applicants? One unlucky person has to get the job and work and the other 19 get to sue and get a check for not getting the job. No. Be happy for your girlfriend, not bitter, and move on.
