Legal Question in Family Law in India

This is Kumar. I was married in 2007 and we lived together till end of year 2008. Unfortunately the things didnt work out well for us. My wife went to her parents and started living with them. I filed a Restitution of Conjugal Rights in mid of 2009 as suggested by my lawyer. I attended court multiple times (may be 3 times), however there was neither a response from my wife nor she appeared in the court. However, I had to move to US in mid of 2010 and I have been living here in US since then. Later my lawyer said that my case was closed (?) by judge as neither of us (my wife/myself) werent present in the court. Now my questions are:

What is the procedure to get divorce? Can I get divorce based on earlier RCR?

How long it may take to get divorce?

Do I need to be physically present in the court?
