Legal Question in Family Law in India

Sir, I got engaged with a girl 2 years ago, after that she maintained a relationship with another boy, but the boy refused to marry her and since that time that girl requesting me for marriage. I rejected many times. Then she and her mother called me to their home to talk about, why I am not marrying that girl. But that day her mother told to me to sleep with that girl in single room. Since that time they are blackmailing me, if you are not interested to marry, why you slept with that girl. Actually she is having polygon relationships, that I don't know earlier. When I have seen her mobile at that night, I came to know about her relationships. Later on I talked about the relationships, She replied " Yes, I have done mistake after engagement. From now onwards I will not do such illegal things, I cheated you, for that I am sorry" Believe me " . Like that she said. Now I am not feeling secure with that girl. I don't want to marry that girl. What is the legal procedure for not marrying that girl.

Hello,

You say that you are engaged to this girl and that you had a relationship with her, but have not married her till now. The simple procedure in a case like yours is to tell the girl and her family that she is unfaithful and will not make a good wife, which is why you are breaking the engagement and are not going to marry her. There is no obligation on you to marry her just because you have been engaged. However, you should be prepared for any legal action that they might take. In many such cases, the women and their families tend to file false cases against others and attempt to harass you legally. They may even try to force you to marry her or file some false case of rape, sexual harassment or domestic violence. You should be prepared for any such eventuality. The best course for you right now will be to do as I advised above and contact a good lawyer in the meantime. Having some legal backup means that you will be able to escpae going to jail and get something like anticipatory bail before they file all these false cases against you.
