Legal Question in Immigration Law in United States

Hi. I'm an intern from the Philippines and my visa will expire on April 19. Me and my partner would like to marry. Will I be legal if we get married before my visa expires? Will I can stay in the US legally after that?

If your partner is a U.S. citizen & the marriage is legal in the State in which you get married, then you can file for a greencard. You would not need to worry about whether or not your visa was still valid. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. Thank you & good luck!

No you will not be legal just because you marry before the visa expires. There is then a petition and application process depending on whether you meet eligibility requirements. Feel free to call if you'd like to set up a consultation- 703-270-9235.
