Legal Question in Employment Law in India

i would like to get a detailed explanation of the section mentioned below. the section is from an appointment letter.

Your services can be terminated by the company by giving you two months notice period in writing or salary equivalent to two months in lieu of notice period. Similarly , you may resign from the company by giving two months notice in writing. However, the option to relieve you of your services before completion of two months notice period shall rest with the company subject to adjustment of salary & allowance in lieu of the shortfall in the notice period

does this mean that the company decides whether an employee can leave the company before serving two month's notice period or not ? That is even when the employee to willing to buy out the notice period then still can the company decide to IGNORE that request and not relieve the employee from his/her duties. please advice.
