Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

Their are three shops of the same owner. I have taken two shops on rent from the past 40 years. Mr X has taken the third shop on rent from the past 40 years. Mr X has also taken two shops above our shop on rent. The owner surreptitiously sold the shop which i have rented to Mr X without giving any notice. Its a matter of our livelihood. What can we do as he sold the shop without giving us any notice? Mr X has not published any notice in newspaper before buying our shop. We still have the possession of the shop. Please tell if any solution.

Dear Sir / Madam,

It is a general practice that the Owner does not sell the flat to a third party when there is an Agreement for Leave and License in force. Since you are just the tenant in the shop, the landlord has every right to sell it to whomsoever he wishes to. There is no such rule that an advertisement has to be given in any newspaper to sell the shop.
