Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

I am living with my in-laws for 12 years in the same house. The house is in my father in-law's name. My husband died 3 years back. I have two kids. My sister - in-law is married and do not stay with us. Do I have any claim in this house. As I do not have any other house and I am staying here for so long. Am I the legal heir for the home.

No, it is the self acquired property of FIL and hence you have no property rights. But you can avail residential right for some times if they try to evict you. THe provision is there for you under D.V.Act.
