Ex friend attacking my family
My husband has a friend that started a rumor that she slept with him knowing that I would hear about it. When my husband denied it she started telling everybody what he supposebly did. We then get kicked out of the house we were living in due to this rumor and it has caused me emotional stress and stress to my marriage. I know there is no proof that it did or did not happen but can I get her on being malicious towrds me and my husband.

You can file a suit for libel/slander against this individual. You do not need to prove specific damages since this involves a matter of sexual impropriety which is specifically exempt from the need to prove such. Even so, you do have specific damage in that you have been kicked out of your house.
However, what would you get out of the case? Is this person particularly wealthy such that you could collect a judgment?
Also, she does have a defense: truth. In other words, she can argue that it did in fact happen and then a jury would have to decide who is telling the truth. That's a real problem in these cases as it is a toss up as to whom a jury would believe.
But how did you get kicked out of the house? Are you on a lease? Or is this just some house that you are renting from someone without a contract? It is possible that the landowner is violating the lease.
