Legal Question in Business Law in Arizona

Can I be sued for loss of income if I am starting a business that is the same as the one I am currently with? There is not a non-compete in my current contract.

Generally, if your previous employer did not protect its rights with a non-compete then they cannot sue. However, it does not mean they can't or won't proceed against you on the basis of taking propriety information.
