Bad Check Writer

I am an independent consultant and had a client write a bad check. She stated she will make good but it has not happened yet. What can I do to collect my money? She has already received her goods and I dont have the money for court and all that stuff. Can you please give some advise so at least she knows I am serious about collecting it.
