Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arizona

Hi, my boyfriend and i where both charged with 13-1203A1. Both of us being the victim on each others case. Nothing really serious happend except a bite mark some scratches and verbal argument. Im going through post-partum depression and i got mad at him and put our newborn baby on her crib since he started having a verbal argument then he tried to pick her up and i didnt let him. Thats when i grabbed him by the shoulder and pulled him back, scratched him and he bit me. Police took a picture of the bite mark when they came since i called them since he would not give me back the baby or put her on her crib because he grabbed her. Both of us where arrested of course and i would like to know since only the state is pressing charges because we worked out our issues, what would be the best thing to do to get the case dismissed or not be sentenced guilty since their is evidence of the bite mark from his part but also if my post-partum depression would in some way help us both.
