You first of all would go online to the Arizona Supreme Court's website, and use their child support calculator, at http://www.azcourts.gov/familylaw/2011ChildSupportCalculator.aspx, to determine what the correct amount of child support would be with your current (or soon to be?) income drop. Then, if that amount is at least 15% lower than the current child support order, you may file for a petition to modify to get it adjusted downward. Best of luck!

You need to file a Petition to Modify. Arizona does have a "Simplified" process for doing so. To get an idea what the change may be, you can run some scenarios on the Arizona Supreme Court website. There is a free Child Support Calculator there. If you use correct figures, it can tell you exactly what a Judge will order for child support.

Please remember that Arizona does not allow retroactive child support modifications. So, if you believe you are entitled to a modification, you need to file soon. Every month you wait is a month you lose.
