Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

termination of guardianship

We wish to teminate our guardianship responsbilities of our 16 year old nephew. We have been his guardian for 15 years. His mother would like to regain custody of him. At our court hearing the judge was not willing to allow his mother custody, due to drug and alochol abuse. She has been sober for 9 months. The judge has appointed another lawyer to look into the situation and report back to him before our next court date. What are our options other than remaining the guardian or sending the child to a foster home?
