my father did not leave a will he left a piece of paper stating what he wanted done i am an only child and want to know how i can get myself in charge of the estate

One copy of your message said it related to CA law. The next message I received said AZ law. I will answer on that basis.

A lot of facts are not known here. Was you father single? I would need to see a copy of this paper. You are likely the sole heir even if the "paper" did not qualify as a will. If it does qualify as a will, it would govern. Again, I would need to see this "paper."
