Legal Question in Health Care Law in Arkansas

an employee at the pharmacy i fill my prescription drugs at revealed to my ex husband the types of meds I had filled and information regarding my pharmacy bill. She did this due to the fact that my ex husband & I are in the middle of a custody battle. What are my rights as far as the HIPAA violation is concerned? I have taken the steps to fill out a privacy complaint to the department of health and human services, however, I wanted to know what other civil suites I can file against this person for involving my private medical information to an unauthorized person with the intention of harming me?

You may have a claim for HIPPA violations, but your husband most likely could have obtained the information through subpoenas or other formal discovery.
