Need more information about when you got the violation, how old you were, etc. But know that under California Law after you have completed any penalties and probation is over if there is any you can request to have your record "EXPUNGED."

Go to the courthouse where you were prosecuted. Go to the criminal window and tell the clerk you are looking to expunge your record and you need a form. The form's I have seen ask you for the date of the violation, the case number, and some other bits of information. Last time i checked you fill that out, give it to the clerk and pay a fee. Then court will review your file and decide whether to expunge. Once it is expunged you no longer have to report that violation, except in some limited circumstances which will be outlined on the Order granting the expungement.

Depending on the seriousness of the crime (and yours does not look serious) its possible that it won't be granted. If that is the case, hire an attorney to do a new expungement request who will know what evidence to include with your application that will help the court decide that you should be entitled to an expungement.

Good Luck
