Legal Question in Disability Law in California

I am currently on disability due to my job causing anxiety and depression. my insurance got cancel on July 25,2011 my employer is sending me to ceridian/cobra which i cant afford monthly payment are $300 they are stating that is reduction of hours which is not true I have not worked since May 2, 2011. Is there anything i can do I need insurance.
