Legal Question in Disability Law in California

Need a Discrimination Atty in So Cal

I was terminated in Jan. 07 in retaliation for having my Dr. write a note for the Co. to move me into a more ventilated area because cigarette smoke and pigeons in the attic were effecting my severe asthma. They let me suffer for 3 months, but after the Dr. submitted the letter, they didn't move me for 9 days to my original location just 6 ft away. I wrote to the mgr and asked what was taking so long to move me and she replied,''I was asked to stop the process.'' In addition, I was not paid or treated the same as another male in the same position. He was paid during holidays and his cellphone was paid and mine was not. Further, I was not paid as contracted throughout my employment of over 2 years. I filed with Fair Employment and they found them in violation of Sex, Disability and Race in Sept. 07. Last Fri. I rec'd a letter that they dont' have enough info to proceed with the investigation? My file is 1 1/2 inches think, only 1 witness was called and I have several. I have emails, Dr.'s notes, and several whom can tell the Court how I was treated differently than a male in my position. Is there an Attorney out there in So Cal or Orange Cty that is interested in meeting me immediately? I have 8 days to respond to the State.

If what you mean is that you have only 8 days left on a 'right to sue / case closure letter' before your time expires to file suit, then you have a serious problem.

If, instead, you mean that the DFEH has asked for further info, and you are NOT yet running out of time on a 'right to sue / case closure letter', then you can consult with counsel to see what needs to be done.

I suspect the first scenario is what you have. Feel free to contact me if serious about hiring counsel to get such Complaint timely filed.
