I won a judgement in smallclaims. the defendent apealed. why would a person at fault of a rear end auto acident apeal a judgement from the courts. And to bring in insurace attorneys what could possibly happen in court. Thank you.

An appeal in a small claims matter results in a trial de novo, which means a retrial on the merits. The Superior Court judge will reweigh the evidence and could rule for the defendant.
