Legal Question in Business Law in California

Fictitious business names online?

With so many daily and weekly newspapers going out of business, how are legal advertisements published? Fictitious business names, foreclosures, divorces ect.

I know all legal ads need published in a newspaper that is adjudicated for the County where the newspaper is located. Are the laws changing? Can I publish my legal ads online now and will it be legal?

I actually represent a couple of newspapers.

Legal advertising rules have not changed. Legal notices need to be placed in a newspaper adjudicated as a "newspaper of general circulation." This will not be changing any time soon.

Some legal advertising, such as a dba only need a County adjudicated newspaper, while others, like probate notices, need City adjudications.
