Legal Question in Business Law in California

Is it legal for my boss to intentionally hand my tips to another employee and ask them to give it to me? I work in a restaurant, and this happens all the time. The other night, the "person" she handed them to, never gave them to me and said that Boss never asked.

Whether it is "legal" or not probably depends upon the boss's intent. For the act to be illegal, he'd probably have to intend permanently to deprive you of your money. I'd say it was legal but unwise.
