Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

I need help with a car purchase. I bought a car which held a 2 day return policy. I was informed by my mechanic the service engine light was disconnected and the car has many major codes popping up and in need of major repairs. I tried to return the car but the seller wants to take $500. from my purchase price and now will not even answer his phone so I can return it within the 2 days as stipulated in the signed agreement. What can I do? This is a licensed dealer working from his home.

You will have to read the contract carefully to ensure that you have fully complied with all terms of the contract. Then you may have to report the dealer to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs, or the Dept. of Consumer Affairs. Or you can hire an attorney and sue him, or you can sue in small claims court.
