Legal Question in Construction Law in California

Can I Lien Property without filling a pre-lien

I have done several jobs for a contractor and now he has stopped making payments on the invoiced jobs. What can I do, I haven't filed a pre- lien on the jobs but there over 20 days. He was making steady payments so what can I do he owes 23,000.00.

If you can file any valid timely liens to tie up the property, do so asap. If you are past the point you can do that, you'll have to sue the contractor. Consult with local counsel and see if you can also name the property owners in that suit. The sooner you do, the better.
