Miserable with unfinished kitchen cabinets for ''3YRS''
To emarrassed to even ask for help! in OCT 2002 we were remodeling the front house to move in, we hired a cabinet maker to install new kitchen cabinets and granite countertop we went to his shop to look at the wood&designs to start.my husband gave him a certain amount of $ more than the 10% that your supposed to. the reciept/agreement states he would be done in 4 weeks. he came 2 months later istalled the bottom portion of cabinets with wood on top so i could at least have somplace to put my sink and food to cook, months later came and put the top part of cabinets for me to store canned food etc, monthslater he came to measure, a few weeks later he came to put in what should be an island/bar area and broom storage. a while after, he camethis Jan 05 measured and wanted $ for granite, husband gave him $ i got mad gave the guy an ultimatum he gave us reciept stating that he would finish in a month, well he came on valentines to install the doors on some of the cabinets.7 weeks now and hasn't showed up! for 3 yrs weve asked for our $ back weve threatend, he says hell finish sets a date and doesnt show! i dont think he has a license my husband doesnt have the heart to sue, he convinces my husband that hell finish.what can i do help!!

That kind of conduct is unacceptable. If he doesn't have a license, he can't defend a lawsuit. You should demand a full refund, less credit for work done, or immediate performance. If he doesn't comply, sue him for breach of contract and damages.

Contact the Contractors State License Board and file a complaint. You can, of course, also sue, but the CSLB is free. You can also make a claim against the guy's license bond if he's licensed. Check the CSLB website.
