Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I am behind in my auto loan and currently working with the loan company but they keep calling. The problem is they call repeatedly on my home phone and cell phone but when I answer they hang up. Is this legal? And do I have any recourse? I call the number back and ask why they are hanging up but they say it is the auto dialer and that they can call 15 times per day. I understand allowing the calls but shouldnt they be required to answer when they are calling me over and over.

Be sure and get written confirmation of any payment arrangements, we get lots of people here who were told lies by the finance company and, surprise! Auto gets repo'ed, and all the person has is a worthless verbal promise. Write down the name and employee number of everyone you speak to, along with the time and date, and if they promise you anything, write a confirming letter.
