Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

I have a contract from El Dorado County, CA for services rendered to a business in Santa Barbara County, CA that was short paid by $400. I have sent two collection demand letters to this client with no response. I am in the process of filing a small claims case against my client, but am not sure if I need to file this claim in El Dorado County where the contract was initiated, or in Santa Barbara County where the services were rendered...Can you shed some light on this for me?

Venue is determined by where the contract was signed or performed or the defendant has their place of business. You get to select which court hears the matter.
