Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

One of my creditors sued me and I was able to work out a settlement with the attorney for less than the amount owed. The filed a satisfaction of judgment with the court on 1/7/11 and I thought that was a done deal. Then I noticed something on my credit report so I checked and noticed they filed on 1/21/11 a writ of execution - returned unsatisfied. does that mean the case is not done and they can still come after me? do I contact that attorney and ask for a dismissal?

It probably means that the lawyer told the sheriff not to execute because of the settlement. The sheriff is required to return the writ, which he or she did. Since you have a satisfaction of judgment, nothing further should occur.
