Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Insufficient Check

Hi, i was working as a temp through the Staffing Company call SkillStorm in San Diego, CA

They delayed the paycheck for about 1 month, and they asked me to pick up my paycheck at their office.

However, my bank BOA told me that was a ''Insufficient Check''

and SkillStorm Deny they gave me a bad check!!

I just want to know if they are against the law by doing this to me!

Re: Insufficient Check

I suggest you file a labor board action. You can also go to small claims court and sue for 3 times the amount of the check after a certified letter under Civil Code Section 1719 is sent to them.

Re: Insufficient Check

Yes it is against the law to write a bad check. How much is it for? You may ask for treble damages (3 times the amount) if it is not made good with in 10 days of your written demand. Call me directly for assistance.
