Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

In small claims court I received a judgment against a property management corp in California - they closed down and kept a months rent and the deposit for a property they managed for me. Can I attempt to collect this judgment against the Judgement's Designated Officer or do I have to refile the small claims against him and the president of the management company.

Technically you could go through the process of having the judgment converted to one against the individuals if there are grounds to hold them personally liable, but it is a process that even few lawyers are familiar with. For a lay person it is probably simpler just to file again against the individual(s) responsible. Bear in mind, though, that they will point to the corporation as insulating them from liability. So you will have to prove that the corporation should be disregarded and personal liability imposed. Not an easy thing even for a lawyer to do.
