Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Summons/Judgement

I have been served a summons for credit card debt. My question is if I show up in court and lose the case but agree to payment plans with the plantiff, will a judgement still be entered against me?

Re: Summons/Judgement

If you go to trial and lose, a judgment will be entered against you. If you settle before trial, you can reach a stipulation that includes a repayment plan and dismissal of the lawsuit without a judgment. The risk is that if you fail to make the payments, the creditor can have the stipulation entered as judgment.
