Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Vehicle Contract

I can't afford to continue paying my car note but found a 3rd party that is willing to take over making payments and registering the car in his name. The retail installment sale contract section 2b states that I cannot sell the vehicle without written permission.

I've asked for this permission and was denied. The finance company says they denied me permission to transfer because they don't give such permission. If they didn't why is that section even in the contract and how can I make them honor the section? They would be receiving payments on time and in full, just from someone else.

Re: Vehicle Contract

The person you are selling the car to needs to finance the car in his name.
