Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

In 2010, I was arrested for a misdemeanor I committed. I was granted a DAT (Desk Appearance Ticket) in NY since it was my first time being charged for a crime. The charge was Petit Larceny for taking a few hundred dollars, and my punishment was to only reimburse what I took. I don't remember what the judge told me except I needed to be on my best behavior for the next 6 months. Boy, I've grown up ever since!

Anyway, my question is: I've been looking for my mugshot when I was arrested but my information cannot be located online; plus I did a background check on myself and found nothing. How is that possible when I never got my record expunged? PS I've resided in CA for 3yrs now.

This will have to be addressed through a New York attorney. Every state is different and laws vary.
