Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

5 years ago I was convicted of a felony for providing a place where drugs were stored; the conviction has been reduced to a misdemeanor, I never had a problem with the low before of after this. There are Judges in Contra Costa County, CA who on a yearly bases spend a day forgiving people of there crimes, you have to have to have your wrap sheet and the crime has to have been in Contra Costa County, CA and you have to live here. My problem is that I live in Contra Costa County, CA. but the crime was in Solano County, CA. The question is where can I go to get this kind of help?

It sounds like you're talking about expungement. For that, you need to apply to the court in the county where you were convicted, even if you live somewhere else now.

yes, check with criminal defense attorneys in the vicinity of the the courthouse where the case was heard ... many handle expungements. Good luck!

In some counties the public defender will handle the matter whether or not they represented you originally and regardless of your ability to pay. You might try calling the Solano County Public Defender
