These conviction records should be kept in the courthouse in which the person was charged, ultimately plead, or tried and convicted. You might have to visit everyone of the courthouses in the county in which this may have occurred. If you can't view the records then the criminal clerk will tell you. You'll probably need the person's name and date of birth. In Orange County California some of the cases are transferred to another court house for trial. However, as far as I know an individual's criminal record is a public record. If you've a friend who is a police or other law enforcement officer, he/she might run the person's name on the state's criminal record registry. And tell you if the person suffers from a conviction, and what court house the records are in. However, you appear to know the person suffers from a conviction. Why don't you ask him/her first?
