Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

probation violation no bail warrant issued

My boyfriend has just been notified that a no bail warrant is issued for a violation of probation. He was on the non monitor program with 2 years left of 5 yr sentence. The violation is for failure to report a change of address. Can he just report it now, or is jail definate? What sort of sentence can he expect? Can you recommend a lawyer to keep him from doing jail time as he has a job he will lose if taken into custody. Original case was for drug possession, felony while on informal probabtion. all other requirements are satisfied (drug program completed)

Re: probation violation no bail warrant issued

It was a felony charge but summary probation? How long had it been since he was supposed to do the address change? What was the reason he didn't report it? How was it made aware that the address change wasn't reported? What is his booking number, court information and date? Please contact my office at 310/277-1707.

Sincerely,
