You should call an experienced criminal defense attorney and go over all the facts, to get a precise answer, but, that being said, it would normally be 1 year. A conviction to this charge has the very serious consequence of being a registered sex offender for the rest of your life. After handling these cases for almost 30 years, and being a Former Deputy District Attorney, I have found there is no more serious consequence. If you have further questions, call my office at 661-267-1313, and I will address any of your concerns..... David Wallin

In most situations it is 1 year. I am not asking, but it it is you being charged then you need an attorney immediately in your local area that handles criminal cases. Get the best you can find. This is a serious charge as my colleagues on Lawguru have pointed out. You do not want this on your record.

I wish you well. If you are the one charging someone else with this crime, make sure you have all the facts before talking to an attorney yourself.
