Legal Question in DUI Law in California

attorney refund? part 2

i got a DUI in nov. of 2007. my criminal case was dismissed but i never went to the dmv hearing. so i hired a lawyer to appeal the dmv case, but my appeal was denied. when i hired them, we had a verbal agreement for a $1500 flat fee. is it possible to get some kind of refund?

i am asking this because i never even got a hearing for the appeal. the dmv rejected the letter written by the lawyer. so i am wondering if i just wasted $1500 to not even get a hearing or some kind of chance. if it was like that i could have just done that myself

Generally flat fees are non refundable as they tend to go in favor of client or attorney depending on the individual circumstances.
