Legal Question in DUI Law in California

What happens if someone is involved in a hit and run (passenger of person who fled the scene) is this person responsible for any of it? Three people were in the car and all three were under the influence, the driver failed to stop at a turn and was hit by a city bus then hit a lamp post which fell. They fled but were shortly apprehended then one was dropped off at their house. The driver and the other passenger were taken to the hospital. The two passengers are under 21 but both older than 18 if that makes a difference.

As a Former Deputy District Attorney, I have cases very similar to yours. In my case, I represented the actual driver, and was able to keep him from being charged. We accomplished that by our firm doing all the talking with law enforcement and we never told the police the name of our client, but we agreed to make restitution. Every case is different and you should contact an experienced attorney at once, and let the expert direct you. I hope that helps.......David Wallin
