Legal Question in Entertainment Law in California

Music rights

I am starting my own business. One of the products I offer is to make a short video with my customers photos and their choice of music. My question is about the music, do I need to get a license to sell it as a part of the video I created?

Re: Music rights

Yes, you will need to contact the music publisher to obtain a license to use the music bits. You'll have to pay a fee, but you can pass that on to the customer as part of the costs of doing the video. You may be able to obtain a large bank of music with one license and be able to use bits and pieces of the titles. Contact BMI or ASCAP. Good luck....
