Legal Question in Family Law in California

My 3 year old sons father has court ordered visitation the 2nd and 4th weekends of every month supervised by me, he has no parental bond with our son and inconsistent in his life. Problem is he calls or webcams with our son saying he will be there for visit and that he loves him, which gets our son excited then he no shows causing my son to cry and ask for daddy repeatedly. Since January it has been consistent with promises to come for birthday party, to go to movie etc and then my ex tells me he lied and its ok to lie to our son about loving him and visiting because I "lie" to our son about there being Santa and Easter bunny...court order states father must petition court if he prefers no visits yet he refuses, how can I end visits so my son is not hurt further? Can he be found in contempt of court or made to end his visits? I feel it is hurting our son who is acting out because of his fathers lies. I have full sole/legal custody

Consider filing a motion to downward modify the parenting timeshare and also request an increase in child support.
