Legal Question in Family Law in California

Getting back at the DA

I am actually asking this question on behalf of a friend (no, really). Here's the situation...

His ex-wife took him to court for back arrearages on child support. She CLAIMED that he had never paid a dime. Like a fool he had paid the lions share of the support in cash. The DA said that he owed over $40k and attached his wages. He was let go from his employer the same day that the paperwork came to them for that. He had already told the DA and his ex-wife that that would happen. After the court case regarding the arrearages in which he was credited every pennie that he claimed that he paid in cash he owes under $3k. He has another suit that he is filing for a reduction for the time that he was unemployed as well as back taxes that she owes to him. By the time this is all done, she will end up owing him money. With just a little due diligence, the DA should have seen this before ever doing anything, but they refused to talk to him.

My question: Once he wins his second suit, can he then go after the DA and his ex-wife for wrongful prosecution and defamation of character?
