Legal Question in Family Law in California

What can be done to change a custody agreement?

Because my ex-boyfriend took our two children out of state without my consent and got awarded temporary custody (based on the fact that he already had physical custody of them). I was told by the courts that during mediation,I didn't need legal represation, so after 8 months of not seeing my children I signed custody papers that gave him primary physical custody and me visitation. What do I do to get this totaly unfair custody agreement amended, so that my 5yr. old daughter dosn't have to be taken out of school in the middle of her school year?

File an Order To Show Cause seeking a modification of child custody or visitation. I suggest that you seek the help of an experienced family law lawyer as well.

Good luck to you!
