Legal Question in Family Law in California

Can my current wife retain the same divorce attorney (law firm) that my ex wife (first wife) used or would that be a conflict of interest? I currently give my first wife alimony that resulted from the attorney at that law firm. I'm in California. Thank you..

There is no conflict of interest unless the firm your current wife is seeking to hire has represented you previously.

I disagree with the previous answers implication that it is so cut and dried. It is quite possible that the interests of your ex and you current wife could come to be in conflict. You only have so much money, for example, and they both want the largest possible piece of it. That is not, however, a conflict that you have any standing to assert. One of them would have to assert it against the other.
