Legal Question in Family Law in California

i would like to know how to get custody of my nephews. their mother has left them with my parents & i for the last 3months. she is recieving aid (cash&food stamps) she has not spent a dime on them. the schools are my other help, on my end. what can i do, as far as getting custody of my 16&12 yr old nephews.

Your mother would need to ask the biological mother whether she would agree to you guys having guardianship over the children. If she agrees to the guardianship then that would entitle you guys to receive benefits and support from the biological parents.
