Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am currently going through a divorce; we can't come to an agreement about the marital home, even after mediation. We have an agreement regarding the kids. Now, I am sending in a motion to show cause as we can't come to an agreement about the marital home. How do I do an "points and authorities?"

A Points and Authorities is a Memorandum of Law. Depending on the basis for your request, A Points and Authorities may be helpful to explain how the law and facts of the case support a court ruling in your favor. I would suggest contacting an attorney for an initial consulation. Many attorney's offer document preparation or limited scope services which allow you to continue to represent yourself with the assistance of an attorney. This option is much more cost effective. You can use the content of a prepared Points and Authorities to assist you in Court. Depending on the length of the Points and Authorities, many attorney's charge an hourly fee for 1-5 hours of work.
