Is this in conjunction with an adoption or a family law matter? It appears as if you are asking whether you may give up a right that as parent you have. If you are informed of what that right means and you are fully aware of what the consequences of your decision are and this is communicated and affirmed by a court in a proceeding, then without more information, it appears you may give up your rights, if any.

Determining whether this is the best choice for you in your particular legal matter, if any, is a subject that you would need to speak to with a competent attorney that will inform you of your rights.
